This article provides step-by-step guidance on using both the Reporting and Opportunities tools within your Paladin dashboard, helping you get the most out of your experience.

Reporting Dashboard

In this section, we will explore how to utilize your reporting dashboard to view your students' pro bono participation.

  1. To view your Reporting dashboard, click on the "Reports" tab from your Paladin homepage.

  2. This will take you to your Reporting dashboard.

Overview Section

At the top of the dashboard, you’ll find an overview of your school’s pro bono activity. Two pie charts are displayed: one shows how many students have participated in pro bono work, and the other tracks how many students have met the pro bono requirement for their specific program (e.g., JD, LLM), based on that program’s hour goal.

To filter the Overview section by Program Type, Graduation Year and/or Class Year, simply click on the relevant "Filter by" options, and make your selections.

Impact Data

Just below the Overview section, you'll find the Impact section. This includes a detailed breakdown of each student's pro bono involvement. This is where you can dive deeper into individual participation and progress.

All Current Students

Here’s what you’ll see for each student:

  • Demographic Information: Name, Student ID, Email, Program, Class Year, and Graduation Year

  • Total Hours: The number of hours each student has contributed to pro bono

  • Goal Met: Whether or not a student has met the school’s pro bono requirement (Yes or No)

Use this section to monitor student engagement, identify trends, and support students on their journey toward fulfilling your school’s pro bono goals.

All Current Students & Their Opportunities

In this table, you will see a detailed breakdown of all of your students and the opportunities with allocated hours.

In addition to the demographic information for the student, you will see the following information about their matters:

  • Opportunity Source (Paladin or External)

  • Opportunity Title

  • Referring Organization

  • Opportunity Type

  • Total Hours Contributed

  • Completed Date

  • Status (Ongoing or Completed)

  • Supervising Attorney

  • Supervising Attorney Contact Information

  • Practice Areas

  • Causes & Communities

  • Skills Developed

  • Updated Date (the date the opportunity was most recently actioned on)

Opportunities Feed

Lastly, you can view your Opportunities Feed, which displays the same information as the table above — but sorted by the most recently updated matters. This helps you stay up to date with your student's ongoing pro bono activity.

Tips & Tricks

Send Back for Review

If a matter requires additional attention from a student, you can return it for review from either the All Current Students & Their Opportunities table or the Opportunities Feed table. To do this, click the Actions button next to the matter and select Send Back for Review.

You may use this option if, for example:

  • The matter doesn’t meet your school’s pro bono criteria

  • The student hasn’t provided enough information

When you send a matter back for review, here’s what happens:

  • Admin Dashboard: The matter is removed from all administrator tables, and any associated hours are removed from the charts.

  • Student Dashboard: The matter moves to the Review Required section, alerting the student that updates are needed.

  • Resubmission: Once the student resubmits, the matter reappears in the student’s All Opportunities section. On the admin dashboard, it is restored to the Opportunities Feed and All Current Students & Their Opportunities tables. At this point, the associated hours are added back into the charts and summaries.

This workflow ensures that only complete and approved matters count toward your school’s pro bono reporting.

Sort & Filter

Customizing Columns:

You are in the driver seat with what types of information you want displayed on your tables! This includes being able to select which columns you would like to hide or show. Click on the "Columns" side panel on the right of the table to select which data points you want displayed.

To re-order the columns being displayed, simply click on the column name to drag and drop the column. Move these columns in the table display or within the column pop-out window by grabbing the dots to the left of the name.

Filtering Data:

The Table Filters allow you to drill down and find the exact information you are searching for. The filters available mirror the column types listed. You can filter columns by either clicking on the three lines on the column headers, or clicking on the Filters option to the right of the table.

This will allow you to filter down by program type, grad year, class year, total hours, and/or pro bono goal completion!

Email Students

You can email students directly from the All Current Students table by selecting the checkbox next to one or more students and then clicking the "Email" button in the top left corner of the table.

Example: You can filter by Class Year and Goal Met to email all 3Ls who have not yet met their target pro bono hours!

Export Data

You can export information from any table by clicking the Actions dropdown in the top-right corner and selecting your preferred export option.
