Welcome to the statewide portal, your on-demand source for pro bono opportunities across your state!
Quick steps for using a statewide portal:
Click any box or tag on the homepage to find a filtered list of opportunities, or click "View all opportunities."
Apply one or more filters to narrow down the selection of opportunities shown.
To learn more about an opportunity, click on the title.
To sign for an opportunity, click "Express Interest," complete the brief form that opens up, and click "Express Interest" again to submit. (To sign up for an event, click "I'd like to attend" and follow the same steps.)
Once you have submitted the interest form, you will receive an email from Paladin connecting you with the referring legal services organization.
When searching for a pro bono opportunity on a statewide portal, there are a number of different ways to navigate the database: you can scroll through, search a keyword, click on a filter (including an organization name), or apply multiple filters at once. You can filter opportunities by practice area, time commitment, and more.
Once you have found an opportunity that you would like to learn more about, simply click on the opportunity title to view additional details. Here, you will be able to get additional information about the opportunity, including time commitment, training, experience needed, and more.
To sign up for an opportunity, click on "Express Interest". This will open a simple form for you to fill out. When you have completed the form, click "Express Interest" again to submit.
The form will require you to enter the following information:
First and Last Name
Email Address
Role Type (lawyer, retired lawyer, law student, legal professional)
Once you have submitted the form, you will receive an email connecting you and the legal services organization hosting the opportunity to begin coordinating next steps.
Then you can continue browsing opportunities on the portal, or come back to the site any time to see what new opportunities have been posted. Thank you for participating in pro bono in your state!
