Welcome to your Paladin Dashboard — your central hub for all things pro bono! From this homepage, you’ll be able to:

📽️ Get a quick 30-second tour of your Student Dashboard.

View Your Pro Bono Participation

In the top left corner of your dashboard, you will see your pro bono participation hours. This will include:

  1. Your total hours as measured against your program's hour goals.

  2. Your hours for the current school year.

Search for New Pro Bono Opportunities

At the top of the page, you will see "Recommended Opportunities." Once you set your preferences, this list will be curated specifically to your interests.

When you click on a matter title, you will be brought to the matter's description page. To learn more about how to read a pro bono opportunity on Paladin, click here.

To search all available pro bono opportunities, click "Show more opportunities" or "Browse all opportunities," and you will be brought to the full list.

You can also access the full database of opportunities for your school by selecting your name in the top right and clicking on "Browse Opportunities"

From here you, you can search through the entire breadth of opportunities, utilizing the keyword search, filters and descriptions to help you find matters that fit your interests. To learn more about how to search for matters on Paladin, check out this page.

Add External Pro Bono Matters

Working on a pro bono matter you found outside of Paladin? No problem! You can still enter these matters and track your hours from right within the platform. To do so click on "+ New External Opportunity," and a form will pop up.

From here you will be prompted to enter information about the matter, such as title, description, matter type and status.

Next, you'll be prompted to enter your contributed hours. You'll need to provide the date you volunteered, the number of hours contributed, and a brief description of the work you did. You can add as many entries as needed.

Pro Tip: If the description is the same for multiple dates, use the "Duplicate" button to quickly clone the entry—then just update the date!

💡 Note: you can edit and update your hours at any time!

After clicking the "Continue" button, you will be brought to the last step to categorize the matter by legal practice area, causes and communities served, as well as skills developed.

Click "Save," and the opportunity will now appear on the "My Participation" section of your dashboard.

Log your Pro Bono Hours

Whether you've volunteered for a matter on Paladin or externally, head to the "My Participation" table to view your matters and edit your volunteer hours.

On your "My Participation" dashboard, there will be two sections: "All Opportunities" and "Review Required".

All Opportunities

The "All Opportunities" section is where you can go to track your hours. To edit or update a matter, simply click on "Actions" on the right-hand side. From here, you can either edit the matter, or delete it entirely.

When you select "Edit" on an "External Opportunity" (an opportunity that you found outside of Paladin and added to the system), it will bring you back to the opportunity entry form.

If it's a Paladin-sourced matter (an opportunity you found on Paladin), a pop-up will appear with the ability to edit information about participation, supervising attorneys and hours.

Review Required

The "Review Required" section of your "My Participation" table highlights matters that need additional details or confirmation before they can count toward your pro bono record.

Matters can appear here in two situations:

  1. Paladin-sourced opportunities: If you volunteered through a Paladin opportunity, it will first appear here so you can confirm your participation and provide any missing details (such as your supervising attorney’s name and contact information).

  2. Administrator request: An administrator may move one of your matters into this section if they need more information or clarification. If you are seeing an external matter in the Review Required section, we recommend you contact your pro bono team for more information.

Once you update the required information and resubmit, your matter will move back to the "All Opportunities" section of your dashboard and any associated hours will be counted toward your progress.
